2001 was the beginning of the imaginative trend magazine. prints – a new, young and fresh magazine was born! Three teachers from the Erich-Brost-Berufskolleg in Essen founded the “Eindruck Verlag” and developed the magazine in cooperation with soon-to-be media agents digital and print.
Since 2001 the annual prints team, consisting of nearly 50 students, produces an individual edition which is published every year. The topics differ from year to year. In the early years prints covered a variety of topics. For example one issue concentrated on themes related to “passion” or “Herzensangelegenheiten” (matters of the heart). After a few years the format changed from the common A4 format to the timeless pocket A5 format. This year the prints team is proud to present a 64-paged magazine with a circulation of 2500 copies named “crossroads”.
Not only the topics and the format changed in the course of time but also new channels of media broadcasting were added. In 2002 prints-web.de was launched. Starting in 2013, a team manages the prints Facebook page every year and in 2014, an app was launched.
prints reaches a young generation from Münster to Düsseldorf, from ages 16 to 30. It claims to be a broad reach magazine which can compete with other magazines on the market. Each generation of media agents tries to develop something very special in their issue and prepares the topics in an attractive, amusing and informative way. They are setting themselves especially high quality standards.
15 years of prints – A reason to celebrate? This years’s prints team states a clear YES! They are proud of the last fourteen issues and have already announced that they are planning to celebrate the anniversary. At the moment they are preparing some small and bigger surprises and riddles for their readers and Facebook followers.
The topic “crossroads” also includes the idea of going new ways. The preparation and spreading of the magazine shall go new ways, online and the streets. The main idea of the team is to break loose from old schemes and focussing on the internet but the proposal to cease the printing of the magazine was discarded fast. The team wants a printed issue in its hands.
All in all, the magazine will be published in the already known printed format but the team gives its best to make the content and the finished product go viral, so that the distribution area and the readership can grow step by step.
